Uncle Rodney and Aunt Ruth

I've been waiting for the outcry in the news media against what Senator McCain recently said. He couldn't support women joining the nation's armed services. He suggested they wait until the issue of sexual misconduct of the military is resolved. Why is he penalizing the victims? Why have women put their hopes for a career serving their country on hold because the military won't prosecute the sexual predators in their midst? Since the military has been aware and discussing this problem for years, just how long before they think they will be able to make a change? First, I wonder what Senator McCain was thinking (both on this and that Sarah Palin thing). Second, I think Senator McCain should have suggested instead a moratorium on men joining the military. Bet that would make the generals do more than just talk.
