Chokecherry blossoms

Checked the bluebird houses today. When I looked in at the bluebird nest little pin feathered chicks were chirping up at me. The tree swallows aren't as far along. Some nests still had just eggs. Other nests had tiny hairless chicks and chunks of egg shells. I know why the bluebirds and tree swallows have eggs this time of year. Both species eat insects and mosquitoes are in abundance right now.   I even swallowed one when I made the mistake of opening up my mouth to call Indy. Note to self:  Just whistle for the dog.

Just be sure they're chokecherries and not "buckthorn". Ha, ha.
