After the caucus, I needed to figure out which order the names would appear on the ballot. There were two people running for supervisor (you vote for two but I still have to determine whose name appears first) and there are two people running for chairman. State law just says order has to be determined impartially so after each caucus I have done it the same way. I write all of the names that have to be ordered on similar strips of paper, give each one fold and put them in a hat. I call up my brother and ask if I come over for a minute. He or Donna pick the pieces of paper out of the hat and I write a number on each one in the order they retrieve it. This way order is determined impartially, within the township, by people not running for any town office, and I have a witness that everything was done on the up and up. As an added plus, I get a little time to gossip w/ Russell & Donna.
