Sunrise

I stood on the deck waiting for sunrise this morning. The usual "morning chorus" of birds consisted of a lone goose and a bunch of crows. Don't get me wrong - this season has it's own special beauty - but it takes a little while to give up the joys of the past season. The sound a soft wind makes through the trees is no longer a whoosh but a rustle. It's not dew on the grass that the sun's first rays catch but frost. Sunrise occurs further and further south. It's all good just different. Well... maybe not all good. Watched a small tick make it's way up my arm.
