Elderberry blossoms

Needed to get to sleep but my bedroom faces west so the setting sun was shining in. I dutifully closed my eyes and listened to the radio droning on giving cricket scores. Something soft bumped my face and I opened an eye. Ori's soft green ball was right at the tip of my nose - she wanted to play. Might as well amuse her since she probably would start caterwauling if she got bored. We batted the ball back and forth for a short while until the ball went off the bed and Ori sprang off after it and continued the game by herself. Indy had already settled in at the foot of the bed. However, as soon as the sun set, the coyotes started yipping and she went into a barking frenzy warning them to stay clear of her territory. Somewhere in the chaos of my bedroom, I drifted off.
