Sunset

Yesterday, after an hour of tramping through the woods, I counted only one crow and three ruffed grouse for the bird count. Cheated a bit on that because I knew the grouse like to roost under hemlock trees so checked them out until Indy flushed some. Today, Brent and I walked for an hour through the swamps. Bird count was one crow and one chickadee. Cheated again by imitating the chickadees call until I got one to come in closer for a look. So, I'm not doing real well on the bird count - getting a lot of practice cheating though.
