The "Undercover Folklorist" Stetson Kennedy died in August at the age of 94. He was in charge of folklore, oral history, and ethnic studies for the WPA Florida Writer's Project. In 1942 when he couldn't enlist in the army he resolved then to fight for his country at home by infiltrating the Ku Klux Klan. He fed info on them to the FBI and to the writers of the
Superman radio show. The show aired a series where Superman fights the "Clan of the Fiery Cross". Information Mr. Kennedy provided also led Georgia to revocate the KKK's national corporate charter. His life is the kind of stuff where truth is stranger that fiction.
