Mike and I scrub down the parlor after milking on Mondays & Thursdays. I told him today that I was off next Monday and he should coerce whoever takes my place to help w/ the cleaning. He replied they probably wouldn't bring anyone else in. Lisa, the intern, usually milks w/ me on Mondays and Scott, the herdsman, would help out as he had time. I thought a moment and said, "It's got to be a bad sign when they don't need anyone to fill in for you while you are gone." Mike just chuckled. Nothing like being dispensable to keep you on your toes.
