Daylilies

I was watching the finale of Master Chef  while I cooked my supper.  What I was doing in my kitchen and what they were doing on TV was about as far apart as Everest from the Dead Sea.  However, like them, I do experiment w/ putting together different ingredients.  I've found spices such as cumin, dried mustard, and garlic that take the place of salt.  Some of the wild produce here - hazelnuts, raspberries, and blackberries - are absolutely wonderful in dishes.  Unlike them, I'm stuck eating my failures.  Some are just unappetising to look at but don't really taste too bad.  Some are inedible - but then, isn't that why I have a dog?
