Took a long walk w/ Indy this morning. The woods are noisier than in the winter. Birds are singing, frogs are croaking, and ruffed grouse are providing a percussion section. The swamps are hard at work holding the snow melt and giving it time to soak into the water table. I recognized the leaves of the cowslips and wild iris peaking through the water. When we got back home, I sat on the deck w/ my binoculars and watched the tree swallows and even some bluebirds do arial battles over who would get the bird houses. A great Easter.
