Canadian Geese

A very long day. Milked cows this morning and then went to the town hall to help w/ the election. The Chief Inspector positioned me next to the voting machine since I'm on a kick to have more people use it than the paper ballots. Some people were adamant that they only voted on ballots. Some people waited in line to use the machine rather than the paper ballots. One old farmer walked in and I was sure he would go for the ballots but once I game him my pitch for just trying the machine, he said "Why not". I showed him what to look for on the screen and he managed just fine. As he walked out he said, "Tonight I'll tell the grandkids that I voted on the computer." I smiled as I watched him leave. He had to be over 80 and was still willing to try new things. Hope I have that attitude when I'm that age.

We don't have a choice for paper ballots or electronic in Carroll Cty, MD. It's all electronic touch screen here. When it's the only choice, people seem to figure it out pretty quickly.
