Porcupine

A beautiful day for a walk and I decided to cut across the top of the fields. Indy was bounding ahead of me when she started circling this brown thing in the grass. Yes, Indy had learned her lesson. She had found a porcupine but was not getting excited nor close. She readily came back to me when I called and I put her on her leash before I got the camera out to take a picture. Think this must be a young one - it was fairly small and didn't care if we were around. But then most porcupines don't seem to care if anyone is around. With their arsenal, why should they?
