I need an alternate location to hold an election just in case the town hall was blown up / blown down / burned / or otherwise unusable. I asked the ski hill if they would be interested in allowing us to use their ski chalet. It's handicapped accessible, plenty of parking, and large enough to set up for an election. The ski hill isn't open on Tuesdays (when we hold elections) except during the holiday season (when we don't hold elections). It's also within the township limits (a nicety but not a necessity), it's location is well known to the locals, and it's located on a paved county road. The ski hill owners replied that they were OK w/ the idea. Have let the county clerk know and will wait to see if she has a reason that we can't use that location. Hope it works out - using the ski hill would be a great fit for many other reasons too. But, on the other hand, I also hope that we never have to resort to using the alternate location.
