Back in May I received "bonus bucks" from a plant nursery that could only be used in the month of July. An advertising gimmick that worked well since I went back there today to use them. Among other plants I picked up a peony. I usually get one a year and will until at least one side of my deck is bordered by them. When the deck was built I specified that it should not have any railing. Since it's only a few inches off the ground, a railing isn't by law required and I didn't want to feel "penned in". However, I can live w/ a soft green border around the perimeter. After all, it's only there in the summer.
