Venus and Mercury

For the rest of the week, Mercury and Venus will be doing a little dance on the western horizon right after sunset. I got this picture last night but they are rather far apart. I checked the Sky & Telescope website to see if another night would be a better picture. The site said they would be absolutely spectacular on Thursday around midnight. Midnight! I don't think so - no way you can see either of those planets that late at night. Then I saw the date on Thursday. Even astronomers like to have their little jokes.
