The news articles of Peter Graves death all mention that he starred in the Mission Impossible TV series. But the way I remember him is as Jim Newton - owner of the Broken Wheel ranch and adoptive father of Joey. The TV show was Fury (the story of a horse and the boy who loved him) and I was all of 7 years old when it aired on Saturday mornings. Typically, the guest star would get in trouble (or start trouble) and the horse, Fury, would come to the rescue. If the plot called for Jim Newton to be in a brawl, you could count on Jim Newton winning it. The show wasn't as urbane as Sesame Street but great fun and warm memories.
