Brother's gravesite

I walked out this morning for our constitutional and there was a turkey vulture sitting on one of the out building's roofs staring at me.  Some people might consider that ominous but I took it as a reminder to check on the flowers in the cemetery.  When Whip and I returned I opened up the back of the car for her and we bopped down to do just that.  I got out and checked that each pot's dirt was still moist.  After stopping at the grandparent's I stood up and looked around.  Couldn't make out any real flowers from where I stood - just bunches of plastic.  I'd be afraid of my grandmother's wraith if I were to go w/ that trend.  I did see two tin-foil wreaths placed on other gravesites.   If they weren't already dead, I think they would feel embarrassed of their kin.

The forecast is for warmer temps now.  All of the plants I overwintered have been repotted and I'll set them out on the deck.  I haven't mowed the lawn yet.  It's full of dandelions, violets, and pussytoes but I have yet to see a bee.  Will have to get my own hives if this keeps up.

Glad you can put real flowers at the grave sites.
