Barn Quilt
Day before Election Day ... well, in this case, Primary Day. Only one race on the ballot - State Superintendent of Education. Not one of those 'wow' jobs, non-partisan, no publicity that I've seen, and it's going to be so cold that schools are already announcing they will be closed. I'm guessing we will have a low turnout. Even so, there is the same amount of prep. I waited until the temp was no longer sub-zero to pick up groceries, pick up a new book that came in for me at the library, fill up the car w/ gas, and pick up a latte that I'll warm up tomorrow morning. I put in the baby gate between the foyer and kitchen, lugged the dog bed back out to the foyer and put her food and water dish in there too. Tomorrow I can shut her in and open the doggie door in the garage out to her run. Not a great day to do that but shouldn't hit my heating bill too badly. I set out the clothes and shoes I plan to wear tomorrow plus packed a bag w/ another set of clothes (always good to be prepared). I made pastrami and also roast beef sandwiches and packed in some chips, berries, and cookies for dessert. I added a couple of bottles of water. Will bring along my tablet for entertainment and charged my phone to capacity. Set the alarm by the bed and the one on my phone. Finally took a shower. Am looking forward to tomorrow. A low turnout day is a good time to try out a new process at the town hall.
