Coyote

 

I saw this coyote trotting across the meadow.  Actually Whip saw her first and let me know.  She probably has a mate further in the brambles since she checked that direction periodically.  I say 'she' because this coyote is either very well fed or is pregnant.  Coyotes in this part of the country whelp in March or April so the timing would be right.  I'm not a fan of coyotes since they chase out fox and weasel but on the other hand they eat a ton of voles and mice so I'm not unhappy to see them around either.  As long as they give my place a wide berth her pups will be welcome.
