Coming back from a walk
Two items off my KPA list today. When I ordered outdoor furniture at the Fair this year I'd requested to pick it up myself instead of delivery. They had called on Friday that the items were ready for pickup at their store. Put down the backseats in my Subaru and Brother Phil and I drove north to Hayward to pick it up. Had planned on eating somewhere there. After the guy loaded the bench and end table into my car, I asked where he'd suggest to eat in town. He mentioned two. Remembered when Brother Brent and I had driven to Hayward and he had read off to me dozens of exotic, mouthwatering places to eat there before we realized we were looking at the wrong Hayward (he had up the one located in California.) Maybe I wasn't that hungry yet. We took a different route back. Both drives were pretty since much of it is through forest land and the maples and oaks are changing colors. Ate at the Family Restaurant and then bopped over to the County Court House to do title searching. Remember Phil and Brother-in-law Dan are putting together a timeline of grandpa's Meat Market? Had figured out the legal description of the property where the market was located. The Clerk of Deeds set us at a computer and showed us how to find a list of all of the deeds associated with that piece of property. Even the old deeds are now computerized and it's not half as fun as it used to be when title searching required lifting heavy tome after heavy tome. Is a lot faster though. Phil wrote down dates and who sold what for how much. Then we compared that w/ dates of when Grandpa bought farm land. Phil was satisfied that the dates meshed and we got home around 3 p.m. Replaced the log by the front door w/ the new bench we'd picked up. Kinda liked the look of the old log but this is way more functional. Phil, Whip, and I jumped in Jormungandr and took the log out to the wild plum copse. Figured it would be a nice place to sit and look over the swamp - just be careful it doesn't begin to roll w/ you on it.
