The weatherman warned of a hot humid day. I was dubious. Forecast was for humidity in the 60's but a high only in the 70's and windy. How bad could it be? So I left the windows open to catch the breeze. I was right - the day was beautiful. This morning I dropped off a letter to Aunt Bev. She's moved recently and I finally got her new address. Since I was already in the car and I felt the need to get out a bit I drove over to County Seat to pick up a can of potato soup. I like pot pies but seem to always have issues w/ the ones I buy. Then earlier this year I made one of my own. It was so bad I let the dog eat most of it. (She has an iron stomach.) Found a recipe that called for potato soup. Made it this afternoon and it was delicious. Well, I should be more sparing w/ the garlic. A lead item on the news was - forget about Pumpkin Spice Coffee coming out early - there are Christmas displays going up in stores! (Plenty of other bigger news items, think the station just wanted to talk about something else.) A talking head was brought on to explain that businesses saw people doing early Christmas shopping so they are trying to get ahead of the trend. I'm one of those people. My monthly to-do list for August is to order two boxes of Christmas cards and two calendars for next year. I can get a good deal buying this early and I know that everything will arrive in time. Only issue is, when the time comes, where did I put them?
