Sitting round Ragnarok

We had some rain the day before and a little rain yesterday.  The wind had died down.  A nice 70 degree afternoon.  Perfect for a weinie roast that night.  Sheila made potato salad.  I warmed up some baked beans.  I cut open buns, buttered them, put them back together.  Sheila took out refuse paper and started a fire in Ragnarok.  As the flames caught she added in logs stacked nearby.  I got out a picnic basket w/ it's plastic ware, plates and bowls.  Sheila informed Brent and Phil that 6 p.m. they had to stop working and come out to eat.  Brought out the basket stuffed w/ the weiners, and accoutrements.  Sheila brought out pop for each of us.  We had a small table to set things on and everyone had their own weiner poker.  You'd think we did this all the time.  Dessert was, of course, s'mores.  (Although Phil appeared to just eat the chocolate bar and I just ate marshmallows.)  The guys eventually went back to work in Mjolnir while Sheila and I talked before she took everything back in the house and I doused the fire.  There was another reason last night was perfect for a weiner roast.   The day was hazy and very smoky from Canadian forest fires.  A little more smoke and smell from a campfire just blended in.

The air was very hazy and smoky all the way down into northern IN also. In fact, the smell of wood smoke was so strong all afternoon, I was sure our neighbors had lit a grill. Nope. Canadian wildfires.
