An exciting start to the day. I decided to walk along the hay field for the morning constitutional and Whip was happily running ahead of me. We hadn't gotten very far when I heard the sound of a tractor and saw the cab sticking up over the top of the tall grass on the other side of the field. Neighbor Blake was going to mow. Instantly changed direction taking a path back to the house and calling the dog. I doubt Whip would have run toward the mower but didn't want to take any chances. We were back inside before Blake made the turn toward us. Around the middle of the day we were all excited to have Sister-in-law Sheila arrive. The excitement tonight was Brent, Phil, and Sheila going downtown to watch the town's summer festival fireworks. They were able to park so close that they could see the cakes being lit. I stayed home and set the rest of the solar lights along the length of both sides of the deck. I'd set out a few last week around the the end of the deck but found an additional box of solar lights from last year. Finished in time to watch the town's fireworks from the deck - along w/ the a few fireflies in the field that are still blinking for love. All in all, an exciting day.
