Red Baneberry fruit

Doing errands today and stopped off at Subway to pick up lunch.  There was a new server being trained and since I was getting a wrap, her trainer was showing her the proper procedure for folding up the tortilla.  I noticed the number of tattoos on her arm.  No colorful pictures - just black words and symbols.  Looked a little like my arm when I was still working at Honeywell. I'd take notes on my arm and hand.  One way to make sure I didn't lose nor forget something by the time I got back to my desk.   I do wonder what message(s) a person would want to ink permanently on their skin?  I wouldn't do a boyfriends name - boyfriends come and go.  Wouldn't even do a husband's name & wedding date - would hope it was so memorable that I wouldn't forget either.  Same for kid's names and birth dates - rather a slap in the face if your parent needs to etch your name on their epidermis in order to be reminded of you.  I've got a fav Bible verse - but that is committed to memory.  Have a few poems I really like - memorized those too.  Words to a song?  Great idea until another song you really like comes along.  I can kinda see tatooing a mathematical formula but doubt there are many people who would want that.  The old fashioned reason for tattooing is to show you were a member of a tribe or group - an anchor for a sailor, a skull for a biker, matching infinity signs 'cause your love is unending - has become cliched.   You've guessed that I don't have any tattoos.  Plus my window of opportunity for being tattooed is probably over.- at age 70 there isn't a lot of taut skin to ink.
