Midsummer sun

My plans for starting new midsummer traditions didn't go too well.  No dew on the grass this morning so I couldn't wash my face in it.  Maybe tomorrow.  It had been a cool night but the day heated quickly so Brother Brent stayed inside and set up Phil's TV on my media console.  It was configured for input from cable and to use extermal speakers.  A little fiddeling and we reprogrammed it to accept the channels picked up by the antenna and to use the internal TV speakers.  Brent and I are working on Spanish phrases while he's here.  The idea was to write a new one on the white board each day but the same one has stayed there for the last three days while Brent works to learn it.  Did get us in the mood for Mexican so for lunch we ate out at the La Casita restaurant.  To get there we pass the DNR offices and the fire sign outside warned  there was a MODERATE chance of forest fires and to get a burning permit before starting a fire.  The wind had picked up too.  Decided not to do a bonfire tonight.  Did make a strawberry jello pie.  Strawberry jello poured into a graham cracker crust and allowed to set up in the refridgerator.  Before serving topped it w/ whipped cream and cut up fresh strawberries.  Perfectly light and refreshing for the end of a warm day.  Finally a midsummer celebration tradition beginning!
