Red Bellied Woodpecker

Found something to spend more money on.  Had an early appointment to see the optomotrist.  Didn't think my eyesight had changed much though I've come to prefer reading sans glasses.  Not sure when they stopped using drops to dialate the eyes.  The aide just darkened the room and a machine centered itself on each pupil and took pictures which were projected up on one wall of the optomotrist's office when I walked in.  I'd also forgotten the dreaded "Is this better... or this?" series of questions but the doc didn't  drag that out.  He said my eyes looked fine ... just needed a ittle correction to the near vision setting.   When I came out of his office decided to pick out frames and order glasses.   My current lenses have some scratches and issues near the edges.   From first grade until I had cataract surgery, I haven't been able to see well enough to look in a mirror to pick out glasses.  Now, even though my eyesight is back in the normal range, I find I don't have the skill set nor interest to do so.  No problem, the clerk picked out three frames and we found one that looked acceptable.  The whole process took only about 1/2 hour.  There was a little bit of touching necessary by the doc as he checked my eyes and by the clerk as she straightened my glasses.  Enough for me to justify a pick-me-up of a latte and danish at the nearby Cabin Coffee.
