Plum Blossoms

I received something wrapped in a long rectangular piece of paper.   I left the paper on the table but Blitzen soon had the it on the floor.  She worked it w/ her paws until it covered her. She really likes the new hiding place plus the crinkly sound it makes.   Even when Whip went over to investigate the lump under the paper she refused to give it up.   Dunder has figured out how to open different cupboards that open sideways: folding doors in the kitchen, the doors on the pantry, two doors at the bottom of the hutch, and double doors on the TV stand.  He makes his rounds in the morning hooking a paw under the edge and trying to pull it open.  If that fails he flops over on his side so he can use both paws.  He also figured out the doggie door in the garage.  There is an inside flap and outside flap over it which I didn't think a cat could manage.   I saw a cat that I thought was one of Dunder's brothers outside but, when it noticed me, it ran for the dog run and I heard the unmistakable noise the double flaps make.  As if to prove the point, Dunder escaped outside while I was bringing in the bird feeders one night.  He disappeared under the deck so I thought I'd let him think about life while the  dog and I went for a constitutional.  When we got back I opened up the door to the garage to give the dog access to her run during the night.  Dunder was sitting by the car looking up at me.  So any cat I keep must be able to (1) catch vermin that make it into the house, (2) eat insects like crickets and flys in the house, (3)  warm up my lap on a cold day, (4) be an early warning system when something is amiss outside, (5) be a little bundle of affection (when it's in the mood), and I should add (6) be a source of entertainment.
