Driveway on a fine spring day

The snow overnight doesn't reach up over my walking boots.  On the constitutional though the falling snow had already turned into a mist.  Whip, who hates rain on her face, just sat in the nook of the doorway, watched me go for a walk, and opened the door and went back in the house when she saw me coming back.  Storms not over but don't expect much more than this by tonight.   While I walked - sans dog - I thought about Daylight Savings Time  It's suppose to save energy and maybe in Ben Franklin's day when he burned candles for light it did. However, I'm up for 16 hours of the day so I'm going to be turning on the lights - early in the morning and late into the night. I don't get how it's going to overall save on electricity for me.  Every year around this time (and again in November) there is a bill put into the legislature to make DTS permanent.  A good step but in the wrong direction.  We should lock the clock to Noon being when the sun is directly overhead.  Easier on our internal body clocks to be in sync w/ our environment.  I'd let my state legislator know how I feel about DST but, in his case, the lights are on but no one's home.
