Snowstorm Aftermath

I'd just gotten on-line and rescheduled my planned Friday morning oil change in Collegetown.  That's when Whip started barking and there was Mr. Quinn, the plow guy.  I had not believed he would make it through some of those drifts that were taller than his plow.  He pushed the snow as far as he could but the snow heaped up from previous storms allowed him to only push it as far back as my front door where it towered over 7'.  I could get out by going to the side along the house.  When he finished there was a lane as wide as a car down the driveway.  Driveable but the snow was piled high on one side and I thought it wouldn't take much for it to drift in (or fall in).  Two hours later, just after sunset, in came Mr. Chandler w/ his grader mounted w/ a snowplow.  It has a lot more power, more clearance, and a moveable wing.  He pushed the snow pile in front of the house back some feet and cleared out the courtyard.  I wondered if he'd take out my hazelnut bushes but he only covered them w/ snow - they will survive.  Then he made multiple passes down the driveway, moving the snow out a bit further each time.  Will give Mr. Quinn room to push snow for future snowstorms this season.  This morning the winds have calmed and the sun is shining across a sparkling pristine snowfall.  It's an incredibly beautiful morning.

Looks like you will have to shovel some paths.
Hopefully it will warm up soon!
