Sandhill Cranes

Time to pot flowers for Memorial Day.   I picked out the geraniums for each pot - red, cherry, medium rose, and dragonfruit pink.  Tried something different by putting long plumed lavender in the pot of red geraniums and also in the cherry one.  Stuffed in white alyssum around the front.  I'm a believer that potted flowers should look and smell nice.   In the dragonfruit pink pot I added raspberry alyssum - think the colors will be complementary.  However, when it came to the medium rose pot I realized I'd picked up only one medium rose and the other geranium was red.  Wasn't happy about mixing those two colors so I looked at all of those geraniums I'd overwintered.  Had some medium rose but also had some deep rose and chose one of those to pair w/ the medium rose.  Put a bunch of blue cascade alyssum in front - they will pick up the cool undertones in the rose color.  Was happy w/ how the pots looked and hopefully they will have time to grow and fill in before it's time to place them in the cemetery.  Just in case I again looked over the overwintered potted flowers.  They all actually look pretty good and have buds already set on.  They will be backups if these new pots aren't ready.  Cutting the geraniums back in the fall, overwintering in Sleipnir, and not repotting every year - I might be getting the hang of this gardening stuff.  Well ... geraniums at least.

Thank you for taking the time to do that! That's no small thing.
