I'd had Chinese on Saturday. The paper in the fortune cookie stated, "Cut through organizational impediments and get some real work done." Truer words ... I sat down and did my taxes this morning. I will be paying a hefty amount in. Had considered e-filing but thinking now that the Feds and State should work for the money. Will mail in paper as usual. This afternoon I started getting ready for the election tomorrow. The town hall is already set up, we've tested the machine, and the paperwork should all be ready to go. However, a poll worker needs to prep for the day too. I picked up McD's latte. Will warm it in the morning and put it in my thermos to go. Picked up a sandwich from Subway. I eat half for lunch and half for supper. Mom would pack lunches for us when we went to Daily Vacation Bible School at Riverside Mission. Besides a sandwich and fruit, she would put in a can of pop (something we never got at home) plus cookies and candy. I was reminded of that as I added a bottle of Pepsi, pita chips and lemon Kit-Kat bars to my to-go bag for tomorrow. Packed in a book to read and cross-word puzzles. Picked out clothes and shoes to wear tomorrow and set my alarm for 5:30 a.m. Think I'm ready for the election.
