Last summer John Deere couldn't get microchips and shut down production of their utility vehicle 'gators'. They let me know that the one I ordered wouldn't be in until April this year. The gator arrived a bit early. Brent and I drove over to the dealership to take a look at it. "The yellow seat covers you ordered aren't here and the company isn't shipping them." the dealer apologized. Seems the covers are made by a third party company and they are having personnel problems. "I do have black seat covers which you can have for the same price." he offered, "or I can just take the cost of the seat covers off the bill." I opted for the black seat covers. He handed me the instruction manual, the seat covers, and the water bottle holder (that it seems no one else has ever ordered from him.) I paid the bill and asked that he arrange to have the gator delivered when John Deere picks up my garden tractor for it's yearly maintenance. I had planned ahead and when I gave a donation to NPR (National Public Radio) last year I picked out a water bottle as a thank-you gift. So I have the water bottle which fits neatly in the water bottle holder which velcros to these seat covers. Just need the gator to put the seat covers on.
