Winter Naif

I had just seated myself in the dentist's waiting room.  No one else there and I'd left my phone in the car  (didn't want it going off when someone was picking around in my mouth w/ a sharp implement,)  In walked my neighbor Michelle.  She's also the town treasurer so we talked about various stuff until we both were called into different rooms.  My dental hygienist lives in my town too so she always asks about when/who will be on the next election.  Afterward I ran my tongue along my pearly whites and thought about making them dirty again.  Before leaving town, I stopped off at the grocery store.  I was just going down the produce aisle when I heard, "Susan.  Susan Mayer" from behind me.  I looked and there was a man w/ a mask also pushing a shopping cart.  He started talking and I recognized his voice and remembered that he was a nice guy.  Had no idea who he was though.  He wanted to talk so I let him while I racked my brain trying to think if I'd met him while working elections or at a town meeting.   Assume I jumped to that conclusion because I'd just been talking town stuff w/ Michelle and the hygienist.  On the way home, it came to me that he might be a volunteer at the library.  Would love to blame the mask for the reason that I can't remember his name or where I know him from but it has nothing to do w/ that.  Would also like to blame it on my aging memory but it isn't that either.   Pretty sure it's more that I just don't pay much attention to people.  I need something more to jog my recollection when meeting someone.  On the old TV Western Bonanza Adam always wore black, Hoss a a ten-gallon hat, and Little Joe a green suede jacket.  It would be most helpful if people in real life would pick some article of clothing they like and wear it constantly.
