There is a new pet adoption commercial where a boy is telling his dog that the dog's former owner was an astronomer that was taken by UFO's. The boy explains that there is no other reason they would have abandoned a great dog like him. I never told people that I too talk to my dog about her former owners. Whip was a stray found in southern Texas. I've spun the tale that her former owners were deported back to Mexico and they couldn't take her w/ them. That she is a wonderful dog and can now stay w/ me. She listens carefully, head cocked, and then licks my hand. I may have to change my story though. I've tried talking to her in Spanish and she doesn't react. Last night I said something in German and she got all excited. Maybe I should say that her former owners were exchange students?

Interesting! Does she understand commands in German and English? Perhaps you have a bi-lingual dog!
