Pictures from my brother Phil Mayer.
Phil was explaining the Olympics held last weekend at the community where he and Sheila live. One of the events was the two-man golf cart slalom. The driver is blindfolded and the passenger has to give him/her directions so they can drive between cones set up on the course. Sounded hilarious from his description. Reminded me of a 'team-building' event we'd had at Honeywell. Everyone was paired up. One person was selected to be blindfolded and the other was to take them by the hand and lead them around the grounds. I and a man I worked with were teamed together and he was to be blindfolded. This was going to be problematic. Not only did I happen to dislike this guy but I don't touch anyone unless absolutely necessary. (Wonder if the boss told them to make us a team?) After he was blindfolded I told him instead of leading him by hand he should follow my voice. (I also couldn't tell him to go 'left' or 'right' because I'm iffy on both of those.) That worked rather well and at the debriefing afterward he told the leaders how much he enjoyed and learned from the exercise. (The little suck-up) .
