The season end of 'All Creatures Great and Small' had just finished. PBS is airing a remake of the the original British series. I was fully prepared to compare this remake unfavorably to the original show which I'd loved. It's either a very good remake or maybe it's the story itself, but the new version had me hooked from the first episode. Like 'Downton Abby' this show is ending each season w/ a big Christmas extravaganza - tying up loose ends of storylines, hinting a new storylines for the next season, and wrapping it all up in the opulence of the yuletide season. Just as the credits began to flash on-screen I noticed something scurry from under the couch and head for the table. I screamed, "Cat!", grabbed Blitz who had been comfortably sleeping in a nearby stuffed chair, and tossed her in the general direction the little something had gone. Poor Blitz didn't have a clue as to what was going on. A streak of beige came out of the kitchen and snagged the something before it got underneath the pew. Dunder played w/ what looks like a tiny shrew for awhile. Have no idea where or how the little thing got inside. Thankfully my pets (at least one of them) were on duty and earning their keep.
