Hawk

My routine is to go on a morning constitutional w/ Whip.  Then I start breakfast.  Go outside and feed the birds.  Come inside and eat breakfast while I watch the feeding frenzy going on outside at the bird feeders.  After filling the feeders and before I turn the corner of the building I usually look back.  At the beginning of the season the little birds waited until I was out of sight before flying in.  Now they just wait for my back to be turned before they arrive en masse at the feeders.  Once back inside this morning I was surprised to see the hawk was back and the finches and polls had made themselves scarce.  Had my camera ready and got a picture of her through the window.  Maybe she's noticed my routine too and has figured out her best chance for a meal.  Either way, she still looks more like a Coopers than a Sharp Shinned to me.

Nice picture. Is it looking at you?

Great shot, wow! I agree, it looks like a Cooper's hawk. I think they're more likely to be North all year too.
