Goldenrod

Whip and I disturbed deer three times on our daily walks last week.  The deer had bedded down in the meadow near the house and I cringed as they bounded into the woods.  No accompanying gunshots so they found other locations to hunker down.  Two of them headed for the cedar swamp.  A great place to hide out since the only way in is to follow a deer path.  The other bounded off toward the new woods which is also a perfect hidey-hole since the trails there are curvy.  A few feet in and you are hidden from view.  Now that the Deer Rifle Season (or was it Rifle Deer Season?) is over, the dog and I are safe to follow deer trails through the woods again.
