First Snow

Looked like a particularily beautiful sunrise so I stepped out on the deck to get a photo.  Dunder was watching for his opportunity and raced out between my legs as I stepped outside.  He vanished over the edge of the deck.  Photo first, cat later.  I hadn't taken many pics before I heard him crying at the door begging to be let back in.  I obliged and he slipped back inside the warm house.  He's either getting smarter as he ages or he prefers his creature comforts.   Later I looked out and it seemed kinda hazy..  SNOW!   Well more like graupel but that counts as snow.   First Snowfall here occurs sometime from October to mid- November.  It isn't as indicative of a seasonal change as First Frost  - just means that conditions are cold enough aloft to create snow instead of rain.
