Storm Clouds at Sunset

A stiff wind and some sun so the grass finally dried out early enough to mow.  My tennis shoes were still wet from the walk this morning.  Last week I'd thrown out two pair of old everyday shoes since I'd worn the insoles all the way through (wondered why my heel hurt).   I grabbed another old pair of leather tennis shoes that I haven't worn in ages.  The soles seemed sticky.  Had no idea what might cause that but I was only going to wear them to mow so laced them up.  Sat on the mower for an hour and half.  It was a wonderfully warm autumn day.  I enjoyed the ride and daydreamed about how to solve all of the world's big problems. (It's the little problems I can't figure out.)   Back home I  drove the garden tractor up to Sleipnir's garage door.  That's where I'll be storing it from now on.  When I got off to open up the door I noticed there were chunks of white stuff on the tractor deck.  Funny - wonder where that came from?  I walked into Sleipnir to open the door and that's when I noticed the soles of these tennis shoes were disintegrating in big chunks.  So another pair of shoes to be tossed.  Not a total loss, they count on my Swedish Death Cleaning spreadsheet.
