Yarrow

I took the last of my antibiotics this weekend.  Hooray!  The stuff had to be taken w/ food or I'd dry-heave.  The food couldn't be dairy or it wouldn't absorb completely.  I burned easier in the sun while taking it.  Am glad to be done.  After Memorial Day I noticed a red patch of skin behind my knee.  Hadn't thought much of it.  I'd been tramping through swamps and chasing after the dog - had probably just bumped it or rubbed against a plant I reacted to.  It didn't go away and gradually grew.  It felt a bit warm and it was itchy (though not enough that I scratched it).  I finally Googled my symptoms to find out what it might be.   Mistake!  All of the on-line sites offered dire possibilities and when I got to flesh-eating bacteria I called the clinic and made an appointment.  The doc reassured me that I wouldn't lose my leg.  She didn't know what it was but after hearing my swamp adventures figured it was most likely bacteria related and prescribed a course of antibiotics.  As a precaution she also had my blood tested for Lymes.  In only a few days the redness was abating, no longer itchy, nor warm to the touch.  Then I got a call from the clinic that I had tested positive for Lymes.  The doc had told me during my appointment that if it was Lymes the only thing she would do is put me on a longer stint of the same antibiotic.   I am sure I don't have Lymes.   I think whatever bacteria caused the rash also caused a false positive in the test.  However, I'm not stupid. Should I be wrong and it was Lymes, staying on the same medication for awhile longer seemed a benign enough precaution.  I took the full course prescribed.   Though, like I said, am glad to be done w/ the stuff.
