My neighbor mowed the field next to the house this afternoon: fawns are old enough to follow their mothers all day, boblinks have taken off, and the forecast is for a few consecutive days of sunny weather so the hay will have time to dry and be baled. Think he was surprised to see that Brent had made his fireworks "crop circle" in the meadow instead of the hay field this year. He was done by the time I returned from the library. I saw crows walking the field checking for any vermin that might have gotten caught in the mower. A doe and fawn walked across the field looking at the changes in their environment. The dog and I will check out the field too ... just tomorrow.
