Elderberry blossoms

Woke up before my alarm so listened to the radio.  National Public Radio was talking to an organic farmer about medicinal plants.  I'm not sold on organic.  I haven't noticed organic produce I bought in the store tasting much better than the usual stuff and the organic is always higher priced.  However, the farmer discussed not cutting their hay until the 4th of July when the bobolink chicks have fledged and I was impressed.   She talked about the difference in making a tea vs. a tincture which was informative.  I enjoyed her talk up to the point where she spent her time during Covid taking on-line courses in agricultural astrology.  My grandmother would plant when the moon was in certain phases but that was all I'd ever heard of astronomy and agronomy in partnership.  This farmer was going off on zodiac signs and their elemental properties of water, earth, and fire.  She explained how the planets are connected to medicinal plants in order to heal parts of the body.  That was enough to get me up and out of bed.  I've had my fill of listening to foolish ideas in the last few years. This was foolishness from back in the 1600's.
