Wild Plum Copse
Before 8 p.m. on Sunday nights, I make popcorn and sit down on the couch. Whip hops up to lay w/ her front legs on my lap. It's air time for Baby Animals. A sort of documentary on newborn animals of all sorts. Unlike other animal documentaries, every animal lives. If a little one gets lost, it's found. No gator jumps up out of the water to grab an unsuspecting gazelle. No lions gorge themselves on the carcass of a zebra. All of the babies grow up in safe and plentiful environments. One of the best escapist shows I've ever watched: no politics, no COVID, no one shouting, and no difficulties that can't be easily resolved. Just an hour of watching happy little babies figuring out the world. I find it all quite relaxing. Whip's there for the popcorn plus if a dog barks on-screen, she enthusiastically joins in.
