Brown headed Cowbird

Most library volunteers announce the library will be closing ten minutes before close time.  I don't.       Figure the library is open until close time and, while the library patrons are packing up, I have final tasks I need to do also.  Unfortunately, every so often there is someone who suddenly remembers they want to find a book before they leave.  That's what happened tonight.  Only difference is the patron remembered it was Mother's Day weekend and she wanted a movie to watch w/ her mother.  She stood over by the DVD section and asked if I had any suggestions.  I suggested Predator.  I'm not a mother but what woman wouldn't appreciate watching Arnold Schwarzenegger and Jesse 'the Body' Ventura prance across the screen?  The patron wasn't convinced and asked, "Is it scary?"  "Yes," I said, "but it makes up for it with lots of explosions."  The patron decided to pass on that suggestion.   "I like rom-com's", she explained.  What the heck is a 'rom-com' I thought?  Fortunately she went on to explain it's romantic comedies.  I thought about what we had on the shelves.  "How about Mama Mia?" I said.  That turned out to be a big hit w/ the patron.  Finally, I could close up.  The patron still remained in front of the DVD section.  "I'd like a second movie."  "Crazy, Rich Asians?"  I asked.  Got another squeal of "Perfect!" from the patron and I took both movies and checked them out to her.  I could have checked Predator out for myself but then I have my own personal copy at home.
