Willow Tree

I know I'm getting old because of TV commercials.  There are a couple of truly obnoxious ones airing right now.  One has a man singing along w/ his auto's hood ornament.  Forget how creepy the hood ornament looks as it sings - the ad makes no sense.  The song's refrain is "We'll make lots of money" and the ad is for an insurance firm.  The only people making lots of money is the insurance firm.  Sure if tragedy strikes, the insured people will be reimbursed for their loss but they certainly won't be making lots of money.  Then there is the commercial w/ the wife who has to stay late at work and can't fix dinner for her visiting in-laws.  She calls her husband and they agree on getting food from Kwik Trip (no reason given as to why the husband can't do the cooking).  She picks it up (why the husband doesn't pick it up isn't explained either) and presents it as home-cooked to her guests.  (Why the charade?  Why not just explain the situation?)  Her mother in-law likes the food and proclaims the wife a "keeper" (which is the truly galling part).  Please note: It isn't that I'm easily upset over TV commercials that is making me feel old.  It's that by the time all of the commercials have finally finished and the show comes back on, I have forgotten which show I was watching.    I prefer PBS - where I don't get all het up over illogical ads and can watch an entire program uninterrupted.
