Only thing on the schedule for today was for Whip's shots. I could have gotten an earlier appointment w/ the vet but when I called, the receptionist said today was the Vet's annual Rabies shot clinic. I'm not sure what that means but she seemed to think this would be a good deal for me so I went w/ it. I was given the time of 10:00 to arrive. I walked to the outside window, paid, and they gave me the paperwork for the rabies shot. Whip was not only getting her three-year rabies shot and a Lymes shot but I had OK'd two others that she probably doesn't absolutely need but won't hurt. After I paid, the vet and her assistant came out and gave Whip her shots right in the parking lot. Whip was OK w/ the shots she received in the loose skin above her shoulders but wasn't pleased w/ the ones she got in her back end. Afterward, I loaded Whip back into the car and we drove to McD's. I wanted her to remember the car ride as a good thing so I got her an McEgg sandwich and I got a latte. Both of us were happy. Once home, I took her out immediately for a short walk in the rain. I don't know if dogs get tired/achy after getting shots but figured I'd let her rest til the afternoon. Checked on her after an hour. She'd pulled her bed next to the glass door and was snoring. No one was getting past on her watch ... even if she needed a nap.
