A sunny day w/ temp in the 40's or 50's. March in the Northwoods doesn't get much better than that. Everyone was getting a touch of spring fever. The snow was gone enough that I could see the cap over the hole where the garden pole goes. I'd taken it down last fall to protect it from the elements and the plow guy. I removed the ground-level cap and looked down the hole. No water had collected at the bottom. As the frost went out of the ground, I doubted it could deform the PVC pipe that formed the sides of the hole. Still, it wouldn't hurt to put the square wooden post in the hole. I had stored it in Mjolnir's mechanical room. Once that was installed, really couldn't leave it w/ the post sticking out unprotected. Also got out the decorative garden pole and slid it over the post. The top section is a solar light. I inserted the backup batteries and settled it on top. Looked good. However, it would still get below freezing at night - would that hurt the paint? Good excuse to call my sister Connie and ask. Caught her bedazzling high heels by gluing crystals on them (it's for a Gardening Club party centerpiece). I swear between us she got all of the artistic genes.

Says the one whose photography is a beautiful art form and stained glass pieces are so pretty. Lol. (And, I might add, your sister does not have one of your glass creations but would like one).
