Plums

My neighbor Doug dropped off some ears of sweet corn this morning.  Fresh corn on the cob is one of the big treats of summer.  Growing up we kids often were given the task of shucking corn.  The best part of that job was grabbing up the discarded husks and taking them out to the bulls.  It was immensely gratifying to watch the joy those big animals had in eating them .  As happy as we made the bulls, I was happy there was  strong log stanchions between us.

I was always afraid when the bulls put their head through the stanchion thing. They were huge! I don't remember giving them corn husks. glad it was you and not me.
