A very windy day. Brother Phil is here and was entertained at breakfast by watching the antics of the birds at the feeders. The goldfinches were angling into the winds to negotiate a landing on feeder perches. They were joined by a juvenile chipping sparrow, song sparrows, red-winged blackbirds, a cowbird, hummer, and oriole. Further out in the meadow flew the male harrier and crows. Circling high overhead was a turkey vulture and bald eagle. Kind of a joyful madhouse - a vast difference from the serene but birdless winter last year.
